Exhibition closed 30 September 2026. This page remains in the archive for reference.

The exhibition traces the multi-threaded, 120-year history of Cracovia Sports Club, prepared for the club’s jubilee in cooperation with its fans.

The Museum of Krakow on the exhibition (translated from the museum’s Polish description; no English page for this exhibition was found on the museum’s site):

We invite you to an exhibition presenting the multi-threaded, 120-year history of Cracovia Sports Club.

Across nine display boards, the exhibition presents the most important moments in the history of the multi-section Cracovia, recalling the achievements of athletes who represented the club in various sporting disciplines, including at the Olympic level.

A special place in the exhibition is reserved for Józef Kałuża - one of the most important figures in the history of Cracovia and Polish football. A dedicated display case devoted to him introduces the outstanding footballer, coach and symbol of pre-war Cracovia.

The second special part of the exhibition is a display case devoted to the club’s multi-section history. It is a reminder that for 120 years the red-and-white colours were worn by athletes of many disciplines, and that from its very beginnings Cracovia was a club with a much broader sporting identity.

The exhibition “Cracovia 120 Years of History” is an opportunity to look at the club’s history from a wider perspective - through the lens of the people, disciplines, achievements and events that, over the following decades, shaped the identity of Poland’s oldest sports club.

The exhibition, prepared for Cracovia’s 120th anniversary jubilee, was created in cooperation between the club and its fans. A group of fans led by Tomasz Siemieniec worked on preparing the exhibition, while the project was coordinated by Robert Makowski, Head of Historical Projects.

The exhibition at Krzysztofory Palace can be viewed until the end of September. It is a must-see for anyone who wants to learn more about Cracovia’s 120-year history.

What to expect

The exhibition is not another commemorative club album, but an attempt to look at Cracovia’s 120 years through the lens of people, disciplines and events. Central place is given to a display case devoted to Józef KaÅ‚uża - a footballer, coach and one of the most important figures in the history of Polish football - alongside a second case recalling that Cracovia has, from its founding, been a multi-section club represented by athletes across many disciplines, including Olympians.

Context

KS Cracovia was founded on 13 June 1906 and is Poland’s oldest continuously operating sports club. It became Poland’s first football champion in 1921, and over the following decades its colours were worn by athletes in many other disciplines besides football. Józef KaÅ‚uża, honoured with his own display case in the exhibition, was one of the club’s most popular players and later coached the Polish national team in the 1930s; during the German occupation he refused to take a post in matches organised by the Nazi authorities. He died in 1944.

Tickets and time

The exhibition page does not say which ticket covers it. The branch price list has two: the permanent-exhibition ticket (34 PLN, reduced 29 PLN) and the Palace Ticket, which combines the permanent exhibition with the temporary one (45 PLN, reduced 35 PLN). Free Tuesday admission covers the permanent exhibition only. Before you pay for the dearer ticket, ask at the desk whether the cheaper one gets you into this display.

The museum states opening hours of Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00, with the last individual entry at 17:00. Allow 30 to 45 minutes for the nine display boards and two display cases. The exhibition suits Cracovia fans, sports-history enthusiasts, and Krakow residents interested in local heritage; visitors after a broader story of the city’s history should instead choose the permanent exhibition “Krakow from the Beginning, Without End” at the same branch.

What the press says

Magiczny Krakow / krakow.pl (03.09.2026, photos by Piotr Wojnarowski): a photo report on the exhibition describes the exhibits - archival memorabilia, rare photographs, documents, trophies, 1950s membership cards, and mementos from the club’s various sections - as a picture of Cracovia’s multi-threaded identity; informational tone, no critical assessment - link .
