Małgorzata Wszołek’s debut painting and drawing exhibition, “Happiness Is High Up”, is on display at the “Piekarska 2” Art Gallery, a branch of the Karwacjan Manor in Gorlice.

The display presents Małgorzata Wszołek’s debut work in painting and drawing at the “Piekarska 2” Art Gallery. Context

Małgorzata Wszołek is a second-year Graphics student at the Art Faculty of the Tarnów Academy, in the painting studio of Dr hab. Przemysław Pokrywka, and comes from a family with artistic traditions. Her work centres on portraiture and the psychology of the figure - human emotions and interpersonal relations - built through strong colour contrast and cubism-inspired distortion of form. In 2024 she won the main prize (named for Alfred Długosz) at the 41st Salon Gorlicki, and in 2025 took part in a group show of the Gorlice art community. Away from painting she competes in field archery, placing 4th at the Polish Championships in Jaworze, and credits the sport’s demand for focus and precision with shaping the discipline of her compositions.

Tickets and time

Admission is a separate, paid ticket: 10 PLN regular, 6 PLN reduced (students, seniors, disabled visitors). Tuesday is free admission at every branch of the museum, so it is the cheapest day to go. The “Piekarska 2” gallery is open Tuesday-Friday 9:00-17:00, Saturday 11:00-17:00, Sunday 11:00-15:00, and closed Monday. No booking system or timed entry was found - it is walk-in. English on site: no English page or English labels were found for this exhibition on the museum’s website; the one-room, portrait-focused show suits visitors interested in figurative painting and drawing more than those looking for a large-scale exhibition.
